The Nutritional Benefits and Importance of Organic food

The reality is that organic food varieties are far superior to any GMO varieties.

Many studies have proven that organic food that is grown in fertile nutrient-dense soil which is not exposed to Monsanto’s Round-up glyphosate-based herbicide is much more nutritious as any pristine organic food is not contaminated with chemicals that in fact deplete nutrients, kill oxygen at the cellular level, deteriorate the lining of intestines causing allergic reactions most of which were uncommon prior to the inception of GMO Frankenfoods. Glyphosate is known to cause cancer and is detrimental to human health, animals that come in contact with Round-up in the fields and the crops themselves meaning that growing organic food also significantly benefits our environment.

The Organic Trade Association has recorded that if every farmer in the U.S. converted to organic production, we could eliminate 500 million pounds of persistent and harmful pesticides from entering the environment annually which is totally outstanding. Just imagine the effect that would if have we could eliminate all pesticides worldwide!

Pesticides and other toxic chemicals commonly sprayed on crops severely contaminate the soil, water, and air. Pesticides are often so invasive they often linger around for decades.

Environmental soil and water benefits

A major study regarding a comparison of adjoining organic and chemically treated wheat fields revealed that the organic field featured eight more inches of topsoil than the chemically treated field and also had only one-third of the erosion loss. Organic soil produced by beneficial bacteria prevents erosion and is void of the harmful pesticides and toxic fertilizers used in conventional farming practices. Many lakes and rivers have been flooded with fertilizer run-off and even traces of drugs from human and animal waste which starves the oxygen in any body of water which also kills fish and beneficial flora. Pristine organic farming ensures that our water supplies are clean and also encourages a natural eco-system through which all bio-diversity is ultimately supported.

Clean healthy air

Western civilization is especially very familiar with chemical fertilizer and pesticide residue in the air particularly when farmers apply them with high-powered sprayer equipment. Excess amounts of chemicals and especially methyl bromide has been found to cause stratospheric ozone layer depletion and is associated with serious health effects. Organic growth practices contribute to clean healthy air as there are no harmful chemicals applied and healthy organic plants and trees are able to absorb carbon more efficiently and effectively all of which contribute to a well-preserved environment.

Potential health benefits

According to Mayo Clinic, studies have shown small to moderate increases in some nutrients in organic produce. They also claim that the best evidence of a significant increase is in certain types of flavonoids, which have antioxidant properties. There is plenty of evidence that indicates the reality of pristine organic food nutritional value has been largely suppressed as Monsanto is determined to hide the truth for its own benefit. A California apple grower once stated that the peel of an apple contains 80% of the apple’s nutrients. When you realize that conventional apples are sprayed with chemicals that deplete nutritional value, any nutritional value difference really comes down to how much chemical is applied to both crop and soil. The absence of chemicals in pristine organic food is a major benefit as it is one of the most important reasons why most ethically food conscious people choose organic food

Natural Remedies for Survival

What home remedies work best in a crisis?

But this “survival surgeon” from Maine sought to change this. Dr. John Herzog put together the largest collection ever assembled of home remedies that are especially useful in a survival scenario.

This is essential especially in a “no doctor” situation, when you can’t (or won’t) go to the hospital. This is where The Doctors Book of Home Remedies can be a very useful resource in a time of crisis.

The Prevalence of Obesity and a Weight-Loss Solution to Reverse it

Note; This blog post contains affiliate links

What is the root cause of obesity?

We need not elaborate on it, the reflective perception of reality truly speaks for itself! We live in a tainted society wherein obesity may often be said to be the norm, so just what causes obesity? The epidemic of obesity has risen dramatically over the last century and is commonly attributed to a poor diet and a lack of beneficial exercise Remarkably, for much of civilization in the past, being overweight or obese was somewhat observed as a symbol of wealth and prosperity.

In the 18th century, when food became more readily available, the weight of populations in general started to rise. An influential proponent of improving health and nutrition of the working class as a means to improve overall economic productivity was Boyd-Orr, the founding director of the Food and Agriculture Organization. This organization’s primary aim was to increase the availability of low-cost calorie sources, primarily edible fats and sugars. During following decades, these efforts led to major increases in the availability of dietary energy. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, global food production by 2002 reached about 2,600 kcal per capita and is projected to reach almost 3,000 kcal by 2030. Major contributors to total calories continue to be refined sugars and vegetable oils.

According to Harvard mens health watch, obesity is one of the most common things that make diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, and arthritis so common. And if that’s not bad enough, it also increases the risk of male maladies, ranging from erectile dysfunction to BPH and prostate cancer. Another study reported by Environmental Health Perspectives revealed that chemicals having estrogenic activity (EA) reportedly cause many adverse health effects, especially at low (picomolar to nanomolar) doses in fetal and juvenile mammals. Excessive estrogen is also known to contribute to obesity. In addition to highly processed food made with preservatives and chemicals, estrogen mimicking plastic waste is rampant, polluting oceans, lakes and rivers which has trickled down to our food supply.

How can I eliminate obesity?

Obesity may seem impossible to eliminate to many, especially after trying so many methods, be it supplements, weight-loss diets and or cardio fitness training many of which are not at all what they are cracked up to be.

Mitochondria; a Mighty Cellular Powerhouse…

Note; This blog post contains an affiliate link

What is Mitochondria?

It is commonly known that a single cell in your body can have somewhere between 200 to 2,000 mitochondria. The largest number is found in the most metabolically active cells, such as those in your heart, brain and even your skeletal muscles.

However, as a result of the process of aging caused by changes in body cells and malnutrition, most people’s power generators begin to malfunction and diminish over a period of time. It is therefore necessary to be aware of the negative effects of heavily processed foods, exposure to chemicals and drugs such as Acetaminophen which are known to extinguish the presence of mitochondria. Mitochondria are typically round to oval in shape and range in size. In addition to producing energy, mitochondria stores calcium to support cell signals while generating heat, and mediating cell growth and death. The total number of mitochondria per cell varies considerably; in humans, erythrocyte’s (red blood cells) do not contain any mitochondria, whereas cells found in the liver as well as muscle cells may contain hundreds or even thousands of mitochondria.

What Is Mitochondrial Disease?

With a person who has Mitochondrial Disease, the mitochondria in the cells are not producing sufficient energy. Sometimes they are not very efficient or they do not even work at all. There is a vast variety in the symptoms and severity of Mitochondrial Disease. It depends on how many cells are affected and where they are in the body.

Every person with Mitochondrial Disease is affected differently. Each individual affected will have a different combination of mitochondria that are working and not working within each cell.

The parts of the body commonly affected are those that have the highest energy demands, such as brain, muscle, liver, heart and kidney. When these systems are effected Mitochondrial Disease is usually progressive.

There are also times when particular systems within the body are affected in a familiar pattern. These are known as, Alper’s disease, Leigh’s disease, MELAS or MERRF.

According to the mainstream medical establishment, there is no cure for Mitochondrial Disease at present! There are however, other sources that claim otherwise. Scientists had first discovered pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) as a “coenzyme” in biochemical reactions produced in bacteria. But in the late 1990s, scientists found that PQQ plays a role in mammalian biochemistry, as well. PQQ has been noted for its ability to boost mitochondria at the cellular level.

What foods should I eat to boost mitochondria?

Some health-wise foods which contain PQQ include; , green tea, tofu, parsley green peppers, eggs and kiwi fruit.
